Båring school - Denmark

Båring school is a part of Båring Child Universe which also includes a kindergaten and a nursery. The school has existed since 1963 where seven small local schools were merged to one. Since 2013 the school has been a part of the Child Universe. We are 64 children and 12 staff members in the kindergarten and nursery. At the school we are 118 students and 18 staff members including management. The Child Universe is located in Båring, a small village of about 1000 inhabitants. The school district is farely large and densely populated. The landscape is beautiful and we’re close to both sea and forest. Båring is a part of the municipality of Middelfart. The people in the village of Båring are very commited. We have a very active local council, a music and culture association and a number of sports clubs. People here work hard to support the local community. In 2019 the city council in the municipality of Middelfart decided to make a policy for it’s schools and kindergartens: From Middelfart Child to World Citizen. The ambition is to educate children in the municipality to become world citizens, to live sustainable and to be active and engaged citizens. As a public school in Middelfart, the Child Universe works actively to implement the vision, not only in the everyday teaching but in the whole organisation of the school. We see visible signs of that already and it will have an impact in the development of the school and kindergarten in the years to come. Båring Child Universe aim to build a strong and visible international profile. We want to be engaged in Erasmus+ projects and in November 2020 we became a UNESCO school.
